Catching the Spirit of the Season

Catching the Spirit of the Season

Turn on the radio this time of year and you’re bound to be inundated by lyrics about “brown paper packages tied up with string” or someone “rocking around the Christmas tree.” Sure, it’s easy to get lost in all the hustle and bustle, but it’s also important to take a step back and remember those who need a helping hand this time of year.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego is doing its part. Since its founding in 1942, the organization has been changing lives through its quality youth programs. Backed by the hard work of volunteers and boosters in the local community, every year the Boys & Girls Clubs enriches the lives of 25,000 kids in San Diego County through programs that help them thrive academically and personally.

Through its Adopt-A-Family program, families in need sign up with the Boys & Girls Clubs to be eligible to receive holiday gifts. The Boys & Girls Clubs works with each family member to create their personal gift wish list. Companies and individuals who donate through the program are assigned to a family to help make their holiday wishes a reality.

This year, we’re proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego to adopt 10 local families who need help this holiday season.

“We chose to direct our support close to home this year,” said Lytx Human Capital Coordinator Megan Peterson. “Through the Adopt-A-Family initiative, we can help families in our own community and make their holiday season just a little bit brighter.”

There are still families who need our help. If you’re interested in adopting a family of your own this year, visit the Boys & Girls Club website to see how you can get involved in your area.

Happy Holidays, everyone! May it be merry and bright for us all.
